An intriguing phenomenon is happening in Spokane: apparently, many local music fans from a rock/indie background hold a deep appreciation for a traditional country band, as opposed to the modern pop-rock/country hybrids. On the surface, it may appear strange that non-country fans would dig a band that has more in common with country music from 40+ years ago than if that same band went for a modern, mainstream sound. These trend-buckers are known as Silver Treason...listen to this week's broadcast for the amazing story behind their name. After hearing a few of their tunes, their appeal becomes apparent: the songwriting is honest, the musicians are incredibly talented, and they clearly love what they do. They aren't trying to climb the charts, they don't have an ideology to push, they just want to do their thing. This Sunday, a night after their gig at The Baby Bar, Silver Treason will perform several songs as a full band live in the 103.1 KCDA Local Lounge and bring some recordings.
