An acoustic storyteller!

EWU student Jacob Butcher has had a presence in the Spokane music scene for a few years.  He writes songs that tell stories about growing up and growing old, legendary characters in unusual contexts, and old friends, all backed with some dynamic guitar playing, alternating between strumming and finger-picking.  With a couple ambitious concept albums in the works, Jacob is honing a collection of songs for the full studio treatment.  To give the public a taste of his progress, Jacob Butcher came to the 103.1 KCDA Local Lounge this past Sunday, January 23rd to perform a half-dozen songs live in the studio.   The interview was done in a more traditional format, with Jacob and Local Lounge producer Matt Loi talking back and forth, instead of simply letting the artist present the show as we usually do.
