Joel Howard is a fixture of the Spokane music scene. When he's not writing songs or performing at the Empyrean Coffee House, he's running sound for other performers at the same venue. His performances are at a quiet dynamic, but those who listen closely will hear the rich expression and emotion in his voice. He's been known to elicit tears from some audience members. Still, he writes some upbeat, fun tunes as well, working in some dry humor.
