...but they are all Whitworth students/alumni grounded firmly in the Spokane scene. Stockholm started from the remains of the band Unison, who themselves were Local Lounge guests in early 2008. Stockholm formed later that year and released their "Loner" EP about the time they first appeared in their current form on the Local Lounge, on Easter 2009. Now, they're back on the show, again on Easter Sunday, by pure coincidence! A year ago they played a semi-acoustic set-up in our small studio. This time they will make full use of our new studio area, with Branden bringing three keyboards, spanning 30 years of technology.
Stockholm plays a unique blend of styles...think electro-idie-pop on steroids. Their songwriting is solid and epic, their live performances electrifying, and lyrics deeply spiritual and questioning of society. Branden Cate takes charge on keys and guitar. His brother Jackson plays a calm but supportive role on bass. Jordan Kamikawa lays down the steady drum work. They are about to release their "Towers" EP...preview 4 of the 6 cuts this Sunday, then buy it at their Empyrean gig on April 17th! You will also hear the full band perform 4 songs live in the big Lounge this week.
