Jim Boyd grew up on the Colville Indian Reservation. Lasting traditions and changing times have influenced his songwriting and instrumentation. His lyrical themes deal with Native American life in a modern world. Jim melds traditional choral groups, flutes, and hand drums into a modern rock 'n' roll band setting, spanning several other genres in the process. Decades of prolific songwriting, performing, and recording have earned him seven Native American Music Awards. His brand-new album "Harley High" pays tribute to the American motorcycle and its culture, as well as our veterans. Recently he held a performance at The Bing as a benefit to rebuild the Spokane Chief Garry statue. This Sunday Jim Boyd will bring in his rhythm section (Eric on bass, Fonz on drums) and play several tunes live in the Local Lounge as well as spin some new CD cuts.
