In her world travels, Drew Blincow has gained a broad perspective. Those experiences, coupled with her background in various arts, kick-started her pursuit of music. Having only been a musician for less than a year, it's amazing to see her progress. She uses a simple palette of chord progressions to construct some deeply expressive songs. Her guitar playing ranges from gentle finger-picking to furious strumming, backing up her soulful voice and free-spirited lyrics. Drew also collaborates with Brad Perry (keyboard, guitar, and backing vocals) and Blake Abyss (beatboxing) as Yes Reflex: electro-acoustic, jazzy, funky good times. She just finished her live-in-the-studio solo CD with Wade Thames of College Road Recording, giving the listener an honest portrayal of her style. This Sunday on the 103.1 KCDA Local Lounge, Drew Blincow will share a couple CD tracks plus some live songs (and a poem) in the studio.
