From Medical Lake to Seattle to Spokane, Jenelle has already lived an adventurous life. In previous musical projects, she would keep her journey's private stories to herself. Now, she is willing to sing exactly what's on her mind. The brutal honesty of her lyrics is smoothed-out just enough by her soulful, sultry voice. Her newly-released album Initium, produced locally by Mozezbeats, is also a departure from her prior efforts in terms of musical arrangement: sparse electronic timbres and chill beats provide the backdrop for her deeply-personal expression. One of these tracks has already been remixed by another local: DJ Mammoth. Jenelle still calls upon a few trusted musicians to back her up for live performances, including local guitarist Scotty Ray Roddan. This Sunday on the 103.1 KCDA Local Lounge, Jenelle and Scott will show their acoustic side, along with some CD cuts and her remixed tune "I'll Take It" (Rendered).
