My Pinky Has a Name...and it's Mordecai: listen to the broadcast to figure out what this means.  Their sound, however, is what's important.  Hannah Reader, in a complete departure from her introspective piano/voice solo compositions that she brought to the Local Lounge in 2010, opts for a bright, rich, synthesized tone and commands a powerful performance.  Wrapping her classical inclinations in a progressive rock texture, she constantly changes time signature and dynamics.  Few mortals can follow this frenzied pace...except for Bobby Hattenburg.  He rides the fine line between keeping the beat and answering to Hannah's rhythmic whimsy.  It's a mystery how these two can communicate such musical ideas while playing with supreme confidence.  The result is a swirling, retro-futuristic carnival waltz that one can sometimes catch live at a bar in downtown Spokane.  This April Fools' Day, My Pinky Has a Name will perform a half-dozen songs live at the 103.1 KCDA Local Lounge.
