When these long-time friends decided to form a band, little did they know that they would ever perform publicly...they just wanted to have fun.  Still, The Camaros have maintained their off-the-cuff approach even after playing locally for about two years.  Paying homage to old-school punk rock and incorporating a touch of rockabilly and surf, they put on a high-energy live show about twice a month in smaller venues such as The Baby Bar/Neato Burrito.  Lead singer Mark and lead guitarist Eric are both English teachers at Lewis & Clark High School; the only give-away is Mark's wordplay and searing wit.  Frequently, Mark will write a song from the perspective of an offbeat character and deliver his vocals with a theatrical flair.  With their new CD nearing its completion, they brought their full live set-up to the 103.1 KCDA Local Lounge this past Sunday, performing several live songs, spinning some CD tracks that are less than a week old, and goofing off during the interview.
