Transitions is a Spokane-based non-profit organization that helps women in need, along with their children.  Their five divisions (Women’s Hearth, Transitional Living Center, EduCare, Miryam’s House, and New Leaf Bakery Café) work together to end poverty and homelessness.  Past Local Lounge guest Kari Marguerite organized a benefit concert last year at The Bing Crosby Theater that raised over $1000 for this fine institution, with local female musicians taking the stage.  On Thursday, May 24th, you can attend the sequel, the "Women Transitioning Women" benefit concert, 7pm to 9pm, once again at The Bing.  Nicole Lewis, Liz Rognes, the Angela Marie Project, Wonder Wonder, Suhanna Hamilton, and Kari Marguerite and the Seventy-Six will provide the musical entertainment.  This Mother's Day, Kari (a new mom herself) and Nicole will perform several songs live on the 103.1 KCDA Local Lounge, with Transitions' Ashley Ward to provide more information on this much-needed organization.  They will also play songs recorded live in the Local Lounge by all the concert artists who have been featured here in the past year.
