![]() Wolves in the Woods...call them "bluegrass" and you'll risk a black eye. Legend has it these roughnecks came from the boonies, the gutter, or some mix of the two. At least they sound that way, combining folksy sounds with a punk edge. They have coined the term "blackgrass" to illustrate their style. Abe's lyrics convey a solitary, rough, wild life, augmented by the vintage crunch of his hollow-body guitar. Russ picks away at his banjo while Jeff lays it down on the upright bass. Dr. Bones yields a range of dynamics on the drums. This Easter Sunday, Wolves in the Woods will spin some tracks from their new self-titled CD and perform some songs live as a full band at the 103.1 KCDA Local Lounge.
