Mark Shirtz first made waves when he won Spokane's Got Talent at The Bing in 2011. Since then he has performed extensively as a solo artist and recently released his full-length album "Dirty Laundry," based on relationships and life experiences. Earlier this year he started a full-band project, and currently treks between both sides of Washington to perform live. This has had a profound impact on his sound. On Mark's album, his soulful voice and syncopated acoustic guitar are augmented by slick beats and guest rappers, resulting in a chill, RnB-influenced presentation. Lately, his band has pushed for a funky, bluesy, rock 'n' roll sound with improvisation from each member, sometimes resulting in extended jams and medleys. This Sunday on the 103.1 KCDA Local Lounge, you get to hear both sides of Mark Shirtz: tracks from his solo album and live in-studio performances with the Dirty Shirtz Band.
Left to right: Mark (vocals and acoustic guitar), Anthony (bass), Jeremy (drums), and Casey (electric guitar).
